Billboards are used the world over for advertising outdoors. Mainly used to show adverts to passing motorists and pedestrians, the Billboard is the largest of the paper standards used worldwide. Their effectiveness is attributed to their large size and proximity to the people viewing them.

Because Billboards are designed to catch motorists attention, there have been some calls to cut their use over safety concerns.
